Plenty More Phish in the Sea (sadly)

By Jo Parker

I was recently visiting a firm where the importance of cyber security was clearly at the forefront of minds as the posters and reminders for staff on risks / potential threats, produced by the in-house IT team, attested.

For those firms with fewer in-house resources you can access useful information on emerging threats and benefit from the wealth of expertise in this area by applying to join the Cyber Security Information Sharing Partnership (CiSP).

“CiSP is a joint industry and government initiative set up to exchange cyber threat information in real time, in a secure, confidential and dynamic environment, increasing situational awareness and reducing the impact on UK business.” As of December 2017, over 4,020 organisations and 9,097 individuals have signed up.

Membership is free but you do need to have a sponsor and ACCA have recently provided a sponsor for all members which they can use to apply here.

ICAEW have been partners in CiSP since 2014 and their members should look here for guidance on signing up to your newly formed grouping (as at June 2018).
